My Approach

ERP

Exposure and Response Prevention therapy is the evidence-based gold standard for treating OCD. It includes purposefully exposing yourself to your triggers and choosing to not complete your compulsions or unhelpful responses. Through ERP, you will retrain your brain to experience less anxiety around these triggers. ERP is also an effective style of therapy for navigating general anxiety, social anxiety, and phobias.

BA

Behavioral Activation is a type of therapy that helps you choose, schedule, and complete enjoyable, routine, and values based activities. This is a helpful treatment for depression as symptoms may increase avoidance, low motivation, or little pleasure in activities including hobbies, chores, or care tasks.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy says that our mental health struggles are partly due to a pattern of faulty or unhelpful thoughts or behaviors that affect how we feel. The good news is that CBT says we can challenge these thoughts, change our behaviors, and find new skills and more effective ways of navigating our challenges.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is helpful in navigating strong emotions. It emphasizes 4 core skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. This modality of treatment says that we can accept our reality and make positive changes to our behavior.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy teaches us how to accept our thoughts and emotions while also committing to making a change in our lives that aligns with our values.
